Baby Photos at Baby Sensory Classes East Cheshire
If you have made it to this page, then hopefully you are as excited as I am that I will be bringing Photo Sensory in to your Baby Sensory East Cheshire classes in the coming weeks!
Let’s start with an introduction! My name is Nikki. I am a specialist Baby and Family Photographer based just outside Bramhall. I am teaming up again this year with Baby Sensory in your area to bring Photo Sensory to all the mums of East Cheshire! These special Photo Sensory classes will be running at your usual venues on the 23rd March-26th March 2020.
These Photo Sensory classes will be running as follows:
- 23rd March at Baby Sensory Romiley
- 24th March at Baby Sensory Wilmslow
- 25th March at Baby Sensory Poynton
- 26th March at Baby Sensory Adlington
What is Photo Sensory?
Having a new baby is such an exciting time. Many mums say to me how they wished they had had professional photographs of their little ones in their first 12 months. However, in the whirlwind of it all had never quite got around to it. As a mum myself I completely understand this. There really aren’t enough hours in the day! That’s why Photo Sensory is so fantastic, as it is bringing this amazing service to you. Offering you the opportunity to have beautiful baby photos taken during your class.
What to expect during Photo Sensory classes
Your Baby Sensory class will run as normal. The only difference is that in a corner of the room will be my little pop-up studio ready to take beautiful baby photos of your little one! The theme this time will be ‘Baby Bunnies’. With Easter and Mother’s Day on the horizon, these photographs will make the perfect gifts.
At the start of your class you will be asked to fill out a registration form if you would like some baby photos. There is of course no obligation for you to have your baby photographed.
Once you have filled in your form you will be allocated with a number. We will run on a first-come, first-serve basis. I will have my lovely assistant Judith with me who will invite you over for your baby photos as soon as it is your turn.
During your Photo Sensory slot
When it is your turn to come for your photos, you will be given the chance to get your baby changed. Each Photo Sensory session will last no longer than 5 minutes. This is to ensure that there is enough time for everyone to have the opportunity of a photograph before the next Baby Sensory class starts.
Your baby will be sat on my backdrop or lay down if they are not yet able to sit up unsupported. Then I will snap away!
After we have taken a few photographs I will then show you the unedited versions. At this point you can select the ones you would like to buy.
You will receive an email prior to the class with the pricing structure on so that you know in advance what your options are.
Card and cash payments are acceptable on the day. Orders must be made there and then so please come prepared.
What happens next…
I will then go home and edit your baby photos from all the Baby Sensory classes. Digital images will be emailed to you within 7-10 days and mounted prints will be delivered back to your group 2 weeks later. All in time for Mother’s Day and in plenty of time for Easter!
Does my baby have to have a ‘Bunny’ themed photo?
The ‘bunny’ theme is just an option. I have these outfits in pale blue, white and pink. I also have a little white bear outfit too. However, if you would just like your child photographed in what they are wearing to their class then this is of course fine too.
Recommendations on clothes that photograph well include anything pastel in colour, white, denim or neutral.

As we reflect on all our memories, it’s hard to recall ones that don’t include our families. There’s something special about looking back on family photos over the years gone by. Family photos are a moment saved in time, that inevitably will be cherished forever. So when it comes to what to wear for a family photoshoot, it’s good to plan in advance. After all, Family Photoshoots don’t happen every day, so it’s important to get your look right.
There are many aspects to consider when deciding what to wear for your family photos in Stockport. When coordinating outfits don’t get too caught up with trying to get everyone to match. If you can pick a couple of key focal colors and textured clothing items, this will be advantageous. It’s also important to consider the season. You want your photos to take on a timeless feel.
However, the most important part of your family photoshoot is to document the love that your family shares. You want the images to demonstrate and bring to life the bond that you share with those special to you.

Pick two main colours and then add softer tones to accent and complete your colour scheme.
- Another important factor to consider is your home decor. These images are going to be adorning your walls for many years, therefore clothing needs to complement the colour scheme in your house.
- Location, location, location. Are you going somewhere with lots of autumnal foliage, or somewhere like a beach where the tones are more neutral? Select a colour palette for your outfits that will complement the setting. The colours you choose need to complement your background, rather than compete with it.
- Consider the season in which your photoshoot is taking place. Each season is associated with different colours, weather and landscapes, therefore think about the types of colours that will complement these.
- Practical outfits are essential, particularly for children. If your kids are not comfortable then you’re photo shoot is going to take a lot longer. Don’t make it more difficult on yourself or your photographer to get the perfect shot.
- Accessories are a great way of adding style to your outfits and family photos. For example, if Mum is wearing a red woollen jumper, adding a red woollen scarf to your daughter’s outfit will tie in perfectly. These accessories will allow for a more cohesive feel.
- Avoid patterns, logos and strong prints. These rarely photograph well.

The season in which you have your family photos will impact on the outfit you wear for your family photos. Here are some ideas below on colours that work well for the varying seasons:

Why Cake Smash Photography is Great For Your Toddler’s Biggest Milestone Yet!T
That famous saying of ‘Have your Cake and Eat it’ really is a reality for all the little babies of Stockport! Cake Smashes in Stockport are a fun, messy-play way of celebrating your baby’s first birthday. The first birthday is an exciting time and milestone for many parents, particularly mothers. It is a time of joy and reflection on the fun and challenges of the last 12 months. Suddenly, your tiny newborn baby is approaching their birthday.
These sessions are as straight forward as they sound! A Cake-Smash!!
Your baby gets to eat their very own, FIRST BIRTHDAY cake. They actually get to ‘Have your Cake and Eat It’.
Cake Smashes originated in the USA and since its arrival to the UK, they have been growing in popularity and sweeping across the country faster than you can imagine. They have become increasingly popular with parents in Stockport. Parents see it as an alternative to lots of presents.
Consider it as an opportunity for a really fun, sensory experience; one that you don’t need to clean up afterwards because that is what I’m there for! Bonus!
‘What If My Baby Doesn’t Like Their Cake Smash?’
Every baby is different and whether they decide to dive in and smash their cake everywhere or gently pat the icing, it is still an opportunity to capture their personality. The benefit is, that if there is plenty left over at the end – you can take it home and ‘Eat It Too!’ No matter which way they choose to get stuck in, the best part of it all is witnessing your little one have some fun.
About The Cake Smash Milestone Photography
Sessions last about 60 minutes. This is plenty of time to take lots of gorgeous photographs. This is usually more than enough time as sensory activities can get overwhelming. Your baby will most likely want to sleep on the journey home too! These high energy portrait photography sessions are really great for babies and toddlers up to the age of 2 as they are still likely to be in the exploratory phase of their development. Sessions at NC Hopes Photography, Stockport are very relaxed and baby-led. I take some time to get to know your little one and capture some ‘clean’ portraits to begin with.
Can my older child be included in the session?
Sibling photos and family portraits are all included in your package price. These take place at the start of the shoot. Then comes the CAKE! As your little one interacts with the cake they will enjoy the sensory experience of using their hands and feet, exploring the taste of their cake and seeing it!
How amazing is that?
If they are crawling or even walking, this adds so much more fun to their portrait session! Catching them and putting them back on set always produces the biggest smiles and giggles around the room. To round the session off, your baby is offered a ‘Splash’ session with a warm, bubbly and interactive bath to wash off the cake and this part is a favourite amongst all babies that come to the studio! It is also a perfect way to wind down and then dry off with you before getting dressed again.
Following your session, I carefully retouch the best 20-25 images from your baby’s gallery and in about 3 weeks time, you are invited back so we can sit together and watch a high resolution slide show of their images to decide on your favourites for wall-art and digital packages.
Things to bring…
There are a few things that would be ideal if you brought with you! Cake gets everywhere! So please do bring a change of clothing, especially if you wish them to wear something different for the Pre-Smash portraits. Bring their favourite towel to dry away all the bubbles from the Splash. Finally, a favourite toy to keep them entertained should they require it and any specific items that you would want to be included.
First Birthday Milestone Upcoming?
It is recommended that you are booked in advance of your baby’s birthday. These sessions are limited in numbers and can book up months in advance.My studio is based in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport. There is onsite parking which makes it super easy to arrive with your little one and all their bits and bobs!
