Ilam Hall Wedding, Derbyshire: Sian and Rory

www.ellamoorecouture.com

The day of Sian and Rory’s Ilam Hall wedding in Derbyshire was beautiful from start to finish. On our drive over the sun was shining and the sky was a gorgeous shade of blue.  When we arrived at Ilam Hall itself you could feel the buzz of excitement from the numerous guests that had stayed over the previous night. People were just starting to potter about and enjoying the grounds on such a fantastic morning! Even the hungover few I met on arrival, waiting desperately at the bar for water (with raging hangovers) seemed positively up for an amazing day!

The effort that had gone in to the preparation leading up to the wedding was evident immediately! From the photographic bunting and sunflowers covering the ceremony room to the confetti all perfectly bagged up by the hall’s entrance. Every last detail had been accounted for in Sian and Rory’s own personal way. (Or perhaps just Sian’s, as planning and organising isn’t really Rory’s thing I’m led to believe).

Both Sian and Rory were cool as cucumbers in the hours running up to the ceremony. Even though Sian’s make up artist was running late she didn’t let it stress her one iota and she looked positively radiant before hair and make-up even began, boasting her beautiful baby bump.

The ceremony was a relaxed and intimate affair, followed by drinks, games and face painting on the lawn outside! Rory even surprised his bride by arranging a band last minute (I’m told this should have happened months beforehand) and picking them a song to have their first dance as man and wife to….something Sian knew nothing about.

A huge congratulations to Sian and Rory. We had so much fun capturing this special day and we wish you both a lifetime of love and laughter!! Plus we can’t wait to see your newest addition when they arrive!

Family Photographers in Bramhall, Stockport, Cheshire

The Johnson Family

What can I say about this family…..beautiful, photogenic, fun, energetic, naturals….did I mention beautiful!!??

The Johnson family were looking for a Lifestyle Photography shoot for their daughter’s 1st birthday. Mum, Tine contacted us earlier on this year saying that she had seen some of our work on a local Facebook group and really loved our style! She is also a food photographer…so it’s always great to get positive feedback from a fellow photographer! Tine wanted something natural and outdoors that would reflect their personalities and she said that as a family they are ‘out and about’ a lot so a Lifestyle session would be perfect for them! We decided on Bramhall Park as a venue and we looked forward to meeting them to capture some beautiful family photographs for them to treasure!

So here is a snap shot of some of their final gallery….Paul, Tine, Lily and Gizmo (the dog)…..

Baby Frankie

Baby Frankie was a last minute booking back in April. His mummy contacted me to say that she had found our website and very much wanted to book in for a newborn photography session with NC Hopes Photography because she loved our work! (Yay).

We can’t always guarantee sessions when booked last minute, so it is always advisable to book your session in after your 20 week scan. This guarantees your slot for around the time of your due date as we only take limited numbers of newborn bookings in any given month. As we all know, particularly us parents……we can never predict when these little people are going to make their grand entrances so we need to leave gaps in our diary in the weeks before and after the due date to make sure we can photograph the baby in the first 5-14 days after they arrive. We’re so glad we managed to free up some time and had the opportunity to meet this beautiful little guy!! He was such a beauty, with another great head of hair!!

Charlotte, 38 weeks pregnant

Pregnancy is such an important and special time that for most women is sacred and treasured forever. Despite the sickness and the ever-growing belly and swollen feet, it is the miracle of life that is growing inside us. Yes, we don’t feel at our best, nor do we probably look it but the one thing I deeply regret about my first pregnancy is having no photographs taken capturing me and my bump. If I could turn back the clock I would love to have just a couple to treasure to remind me of what I looked like and who I was then.

Maternity photography is not for everyone, but the beautiful Charlotte at 38 weeks was looking super glamorous for her shoot back in April. All around her were beautiful Spring flowers reminding us of what a lovely time of year Spring is. Here below, beneath a blossom tree Charlotte is looking ever-radiant. I’m fairly certain, had I had any photographs taken when pregnant, I would not look like this! 😉

Photography during pregnancy can take place at any time from 30 weeks. It all depends on how the mummy-to-be is feeling. Charlotte ended up going full term plus 2 weeks. She had such a beautiful bump and shape here though and I hope she treasures these photos for a lifetime and shows them to baby Zac when he’s older. If you are thinking of having photographs yourself during pregnancy then please get in touch to discuss options.

Zac came in to meet us at 9 days old. His photos can be seen on next week’s blog, so look out for them. He’s a gorgeous little man with a beautiful little smile!

Baby Olivia

Baby Olivia was our very first belly cast baby! Her mum Clare came for her cast during week 38 of pregnancy, which is quite late. Normally we would aim for somewhere between week 35-37. However, considering Clare was having contractions in my living room at the time of her cast session she was a real trooper and the end result was beautiful!. In the collage above and in the photo below you can see Olivia nestled in her cast with a grey blanket. She looks super snug and super sweet.

To create the casts we use plaster of paris. We ensure that mum-to-be’s tummy is well lubricated and we apply the plaster all over in layers. Once the plaster is set we are left with an incredible mould of a beautiful pregnant tummy and this we use to pose the baby in after they are born and during our newborn photography sessions. After the newborn photography shoots we will give the casts to our mums as a keepsake of such a special time.

At the end of the blog I have included some photos of the belly cast being crafted by our very own Joanne! We create a warm and cosy ambience for our mums-to-be during the casting sessions. It is so important to us that our mums feel at ease during their session and in our company at such a special time for them. We love sharing the build up to birth with our mums as it is a time we too treasured when we had our own children, and a time that we believe should always be remembered.
