Newborn and Baby Photographers in Cheadle, Stockport

Baby Oliver

Baby Oliver was such a beautiful newborn baby. As the third child of the family he had two proud big sisters wanting to make a big fuss of him, and of course have their photograph taken with him! On the morning of the photo shoot I assumed that Oliver and his family may run a bit late. After all… there were 2 sisters to get ready for school and a brand new baby to get out of the house all for half past 9! Impossible task, right? Apparently not! Baby Oliver and his family who are also Cheadle based arrived promptly and all with big smiles on their faces! Baby Oliver had even been fed! How can this be I wondered??….I struggle to get just one child out of the house and to school in time! #superparents

Baby photography, particularly newborn photography is a really important part of capturing and treasuring those precious moments when your new baby is at it’s smallest and curliest.  In the first few weeks new babies change so much that they are almost unrecognisable a month later. I always ask my clients to send me a snapshot of their baby once they receive their edited galleries and I am always stunned by the change. As a parent myself I remember looking at my son when he was days old and thinking ‘please stay this small forever’.  However, despite looking a lot bigger now, baby Oliver is just as beautiful.

Please have a look through some of the images of his gallery, including the first photograph above where Oliver is lay in the belly cast I took of his mummy’s tummy 2 weeks beforehand.

Family Photographers in Stockport, Cheshire

Jo and Rich were one of our Summer 2016 bride and grooms! They tied the knot in Stockport and went on to celebrate the occasion at a hotel in Didsbury mid-August.

Before the big day Rich, Jo, Eliza and ourselves tried to meet up a few times for some practice family photos. Unfortunately on two occasions the rain was so bad though we had to re-schedule. When we arranged another date in May we really struck lucky with the weather and managed to capture some beautiful family images which we hope they will treasure forever! Jo and Eliza came in matching dusky-pink dresses, both looking every bit as beautiful as each other! Eliza was a super-star model 5 minutes in to the shoot. She was striking her poses and pouting for the camera, even creating opportunities for different shots! She’s a little model in the making, that’s for sure.

Eliza is a real mixture of both Mummy and Daddy in these photographs. Daddy’s eyes and Mummy’s smiles! I think these images really capture the love that this family share for one another and we wish them all the best for their future together as the Atkinson family! xx

Maternity and Pregnancy photographers in Stockport

Claire, 40 weeks pregnant

A few Saturdays ago we went to meet the lovely Claire at her local park in Didsbury for a maternity photo shoot. It was a gorgeous evening and the light was perfect, the sun just ever-so slightly peeping through the trees. You could feel the crispness in the air and the beginnings of Autumn were already visible.

Claire was an absolute natural throughout the shoot. She joked that she felt as though she was on a catalogue modelling session, but looking at these photographs she could easily have been doing just that! Pregnancy is not the easiest of times for a woman (nor a spouse come to think of it). Despite how you may look physically, generally you don’t feel your best and even though there is a little miracle growing inside of you, you often feel like crawling in a hole for some well earned rest. I have been asking myself the question recently…when does the ‘blooming’ stage of pregnancy happen?? I feel like I have spent the majority of my current pregnancy looking washed out and feeling exhausted! However, Claire here defies all odds and looks the absolute image of perfection at 40 whole weeks pregnant!
I hope she is as happy with the finished images as we are and we wish both her and her husband Patrick…and their new baby bundle Beatrix all the luck and love on their new adventure together as a family!

Maternity photographs are a really special way of capturing what is such a sacred time in a woman’s life. A life growing inside of you! That 40 weeks comes and goes so quickly and is soon forgotten once baby arrives but a keepsake of that ‘time’ can be something you can hold on to forever and share with your children as they get older. Family Photography in Bramhall, Stockport, Cheshire

The Huttons and Bransons!

Back in September we met with Gemma and her lovely extended family in Bramhall Park. We managed to catch the last of the sunshine as it was setting behind Bramhall Hall on a gorgeous Friday evening. Gemma’s brother, Chris was visiting from Australia at the time with his wife Tara and son Charlie. Chris, Tara and Charlie were all due to fly back home the following day so it was therefore lovely to be able to capture some memories of the occasion and the family altogether on their last night before being separated once more. Having a sister that lives in Australia myself, I know how precious these times are, particularly when we are blessed with new babies!

The pictures from the shoot really capture the love, laughter and connection between the grandparents and their grandchildren especially I think. I hope these will be treasured memories for everyone, especially the kids as they get older and are able to look back fondly on time spent playing with their cousin (s). Before the shoot Gemma had asked whether we could recreate a photograph the family had had taken in front of Bramhall Hall over 5 years earlier. The family portrait this time would have the newest member of the family in, little Charlie!! Picture below!! 😉

Baby Oscar

As a newborn photographer in the Stockport area I have had the pleasure of capturing many babies in their first few weeks of life during 2016. For me, this job is such an honour. Having a new baby and particularly becoming a mum for the first time leads to a whirlwind of mixed emotions and it is an experience that can be completely overwhelming and compared to no other.  Although it is one of the most amazing things that can ever happen to a person, it is understandably also a very scary time for many parents as they adapt to a life that is so very different to the one they had before.  I understand these emotions and vulnerability and therefore try to make the experience of coming for a newborn photography shoot as relaxing as possible. I always send out a pre-shoot information pack to all of my clients to give them as much information as possible about what to expect before coming to the studio on the day of their shoot.  Although I always speak to my clients at length via email/telephone prior to taking any bookings I also enclose some information within my pack about myself to give clients the opportunity to get to know a little bit about me and my family and why I love being a newborn photographer.  I hope that this enables people to feel a bit more at ease when they come to my studio and meet me for the first time.

So many of the babies from 2016 that came to see me were boys, so I am interested to see what 2017 brings in terms of gender?!

Below are some of the images taken from baby Oscar’s session. Baby Oscar was my last baby of 2016. At just 9 days old here, Oscar is looking so alert. Despite all my attempts to get the little man to sleep he was far too content with watching me and having a good stare at my lights. He has such a beautiful little face and I could tell instantly how in love his mummy and daddy were with him!
